TradeUP is a women empowerment initiative of The Clothing Bank supporting the circular economy by sourcing and repurposing deadstock (fabric, trims and samples) found within the retail and manufacturing supply chain.

‘In many developing economies small businesses have been shown to contribute substantially to job creation, economic growth and more equal income distribution’

We recruit unemployed seamstresses into a 12 month enterprise development programme during which time they are given access to business, finance and life skills training as well as design inspiration and extra support through coaching and mentoring.

We encourage our seamstresses to innovate, create and establish micro manufacturing businesses using the deadstock we receive from our Power Partners as the income generation opportunity.
