There was a time when I didn’t feel motivated. I just felt ‘okay, this is life’. But these social workers saw potential in me, they referred me to TCB, they actually brought me here by car.
They were my role models without me even knowing it. They really inspired me, they always talk to you and motivate you. My mom also supported me the whole time. She always told me I must do something with my life. No matter how many times I disappointed her she always motivated me.
I had my son when I was 18. I’m motivated for my son. He is autistic so he’s unable to do it for himself - that gives me more motivation do it for him. That gives me motivation in the morning to get up and do it for myself.
I didn’t even realise how brave I was because when life gives you something, you know you have to do this and you just take it as it comes, step by step. Afterwards if I think down the road, I think, ‘Wow I’ve come a long way. I’ve done a lot. I’ve done more than I ever thought I would have done in this short time,’ and I’m really proud of myself
