Appliance Bank

What We Do

This project is similar to the core Clothing Bank model.  We receive a significant amount of broken appliances from our retailers.  We recruit unemployed men (preferably fathers) who are provided with technical skills to repair these appliances. They repair the appliances and sell them and are also able to offer repair services as a further business opportunity in their communities. They also receive financial, business and life skills training as well as coaching and mentoring.  The objective is that each person should earn at least R4000 per month in this programme.

In order to qualify for this programme, you need to answer YES to ALL of the following questions:

Are you a South African citizen?
Are you previously disadvantaged?
Are you unemployed?
Do you live in Cape Town, Gauteng or Durban?
Do you want to be self-employed and run your own electrical repair business?
